Your example of Sydney is entirely different. That would involve teleporting or some other method of travel. It wouldn't be in the second man's reality. He would have to want to go before he actually went, it has to do with free will.
When we are watching any event transpire, we each percieve it differently according to our own perspective and the event will have a different meaning to each observer.
Our lives are only a "dreaming" as the Aborigines would say, we each percieve life differently and we all create our own reality , according to our beliefs and life path.

There are several things wrong with your "reality is an illusion" hypothesis. What if two people sit beside each other and one imagines going to Sydney, and the other person has never heard of Sydney, and the person who imagines going to Sydney says "hey put this blind fold on we are going somewhere", and they go to Sydney? This means that the second man who has never heard or dreamed of Sydney, ends up there anyway.
Two people watching the same game might be viewing the game differently, but the same is still going on, it's not an illusion because you can verify it with everybody that it's going on. Reality is objective and exists, just because we all look at it differently doesn't mean the matter we are looking at isn't real. It's very real.
